We’re thrilled to announce that Severn Beach Miniature Railway has officially been invited to this year’s Castle Combe Steam Rally, taking place on 17th and 18th May 2025!
What started as an invitation to host a display stand quickly turned into something much more exciting. After a conversation with the event organisers, we were asked if we could actually bring along some of our track and give rides to the public. Of course, we were delighted at the idea.
We’re planning to bring around 15 track panels, which will give us a great 250-foot run – plenty for a decent ride experience! We’ll also be collecting the roofed Clevedon carriages, which are absolutely perfect for an event like this.
Alongside the track and rides, we’ll have our merchandise stand up and running for sales and to help raise funds for the railway. It’s an amazing opportunity not just to spread the word about Severn Beach Miniature Railway, but to raise money for our future developments too.
Camping on-site is an option, and a few of us will be staying over in tents or whatever else we can throw together. Dan and I are no strangers to the rally scene—we spent about 10 years doing the rounds, and it’s always a brilliant atmosphere and great fun.
This is a fantastic step forward for Severn Beach Miniature Railway, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to the event!
